Vittorio Sgarbi about Ming

Of the works I have seen of Ming or Mingarelli... there is a little collection in the extempore... I quickly noticed that there is a concentration, an idea, a vision…in the other artists they are trying to find a way…but he found his way and individualized the prevailing subject for art…the face, the human body of which the 900’s in some way eludes bending around his abstract research or informal…man does not ave the sama centre of which history had for so many centuries……so it is interesting that someone could go back to this theme of art. For example, Morandi, an artist of pictures of still life, who doesn’t print, if not in a rare self portrait, never a human body or human face.

Other consideration of second orders the fact that these are large dimensions, enlargements and zoom on faces seems like a natural psycho-analytic relationship……wanting to read to learn the inside, to feel the face like the mirror of the artist which represents the face of a person.

This “making big” characterizes the work of two young artists who for the last two years won the “award Michetti”, of which one is named Nicola Samorì that with different techniques represents imminence of a face and his enlargements. The same for the winner of this year, Cristiano Tassinari. They are two very sensible artists and seeing this piece I thought that Ming is on the same wavelength……today everything is connected through internet and there is no personal contact... there evidently is a necessity to make a human face speak and all three artists chose the face that are closer and of large dimensions.

In this single sense Ming reenters perfectly in this prevailing inclination.
The traditional technique to express the surroundings are linked to drawing faces like in Samorì’s case, with the experimental research of the paper collage which is deep so therefore it is not a traditional drawing, seems to increase the life of the painting through a series of assistance that come from the world of research vanguard, with materials, with papers or writings which seem to help to animate the image and therefore it is not a commonplace image……it has such elements and……in reproduction can feel a real picture……seeing the original the size imposes like an element that attracts, of aggression of he who looks at it and in this sense the artist has reflected to find his own expressive way and that the art work, this is more of the others that I have seen……and in the others you could feel an idea, a vision like I said……witnesses a research and a commitment to define the image that are not conventional or academic or in banality……that deserves attention……I think he picked appropriately for us to see his art work within.
